Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.

The Gibeonites’ deception secured a treaty with Joshua and the Israelites. The Gibeonites tricked the Israelites into thinking they were people from a distance land.  People who were poor, in need of shelter and help.  The Israelites discovered that the Gibeonites were actually their neighbors.  They were the opposite of what they had portrayed.  Their kingdom was a large city that was prosperous and thriving.

Deception comes to light.

The Israelites had missed their opportunity to take over a major city.  Duped by the enemy.  Deception does not stay covered.  It will come to light.   Do not waste your time in being a deceiver.  It will not yield the returns and outcomes that you seek. The Gibeonites received protection at the expense of being cursed and enslaved. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them. -Proverbs 11:3

Stay high.

The treaty was based on deception.  It is imperative to keep your word regardless of the premise that it is based. The Israelites kept their word. Your word is a reflection of your conscience, principles and values.  It is a testament to your integrity and character.  Do not lower yourself to the level of others.

Stay true to your word.

People will always remember how you made them feel and your actions.  Words come easily.  Individuals will watch the actions behind the word. Actions that must be impactful and significant.  Fulfill the promises and keep agreements. You would not evade an obligation if made based on honesty and fairness.  Your word is to be kept even when given under deception and dishonesty. Learn from your mistake to minimize rashly giving your word in the future. It is a trap for anyone to dedicate something rashly and later to reconsider his vows. -Proverbs 20.25

Your word is your bond.
