Each of us has a testimony- a compilation of trials, storms, and tests in your life. Your faith will be tested and pain is a part of life. The key is how you handle your tests and deal with the pain. God gives us storms, trials or hardships to endure and withstand to make us stronger, adding to character, building strength. Your testimony is how you become who you were created to be, fulling your purpose. Trials, hardship, storms, and pain lead to your clarifying your purpose, developing your skills/trade, helping others and strengthening your relationship with the Lord. Your testimony testifies to the love, mercy, and grace of the Lord.
Your testimony may be very painful. However, how do you plan to use the experience? John McDonnell states “Every problem introduces a person to himself.” Each experience allows you to get to know yourself better, realizing the strength and power that resides within you. “But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.” (Hebrews 10:39) You have a role and purpose in this life, you have a testimony that God is seeking that you share. Let your testimony be of help to others, providing instruction and fueling your purpose. Ultimately, you are a testimony for faith, love, and hope. “Because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (Romans 5:3-4)
In 1 Corinthians 4, Apostle Paul describes the hardship and suffering of the apostles. They were hungry, thirsty, naked, homeless and laborers; however, they never wavered. Paul said, “We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world right up to this moment.” (1 Corinthians 4:13) Through it all, the apostles withstood, understanding that their purpose was to spread the gospel, creating a testimony which is still being told and read today. The testimony of each apostle, provides each of us with hope, knowing if they can endure so can each of us.
We each have a purpose which is to add value to this world. Each one of us is tasked with helping one another. Each of us are tasked with most importantly loving one another. It is through the love, grace, and mercy of God that you were created and have life. Our trials and pain, create our testimony, building our faith and character preparing each of us for our predestined call to duty. You have a testimony, it may be more or less difficult than another; however, it is your story. God gives each of us what we can bear and provides a way out. Your testimony molded you into being who or are becoming today, each of us must spend time on the potter’s wheel. Be thankful and praise God, for molding you. Share your testimony, helping another person, adding value to this world and another, providing inspiration and hope. Your story could be the key that unlocks someone else’s prison. Don’t be afraid to share it.- Author Unknown.
