You Can Weather the Storm

God knows you can weather the storm.  The book of Job illustrates that pain and suffering can be endured. You can persevere. You are resilient.  Satan’s mission is to turn you from God.  At your most vulnerable and lowest moments, he seeks to entice you to follow him. You must be strong and withstand.  God equipped you to withstand.  You have to gain the understanding that you can.

In Job 1:6-12, Satan approached God.  He had been roaming around as always seeking to wreak havoc.  God states to Satan have you considered my servant Job?  No one else on earth is like him, a man of perfect integrity who fears God and turns away from evil. -Job1:8  Satan had a plan for Job. He immediately answers that Job is only loyal because God is protecting him.  God allows Satan to put Job to the test.  God allowed because he knew Job could withstand.  Withstand he did.

Cast Your Burden on to Him

Like Job, you will be tested.  In your life, you will have storms. Storms that God know that you can withstand.  God allows according to His wisdom and purpose.  It is your responsibility to trust and draw closer to Him.  Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never allow the righteous to be shaken. – Psalm 55:22

You learn that you can weather the storm.  You can endure and persevere.  God has given you the power and strength.  You lean in to this power and strength to pull you through.  You will experience God’s sufficiency in your storm if you just rest in Him.

Focus

Do not put your focus on material things and loved ones. These words are easy to speak but hard to put into action. Place your focus on the Lord.  Put Him first.  Know that He is greater than anything.   With Him, you can weather the storm.  Coming out stronger and better.  This is not to say that you will not look back over what you have lost with sadness.  God may disappoint you but He does not leave you alone in your sadness. He is present with you.  Cradling you in His arms so that you can and will weather the storm.
