For by your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned. –Matthew 12:37 Your words transmit power, carry your thoughts, reveal character, determine rewards and judgment, produce fruit and shape your destiny. God created the world with the power of his words. The earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep. –Genesis 1:2 Your words do not have the same power as God; however, they are instrumental in impacting your life and those around you. Take time to reflect on how you are using your words. Are you using your words to lift and build up? How does another person feel after leaving your presence? What words do you speak to yourself? Your inner voice can hinder your progression and effect what you believe of yourself.
The words you speak will allow you to make a connection and communicate. In order to connect, you must be mindful of your words. You will need to find the correct words, stretching yourself to improve your communication. Focus on using simple language, being authentic and relaying empathy. Your goal is to make a connection with the words that you speak. On average a person speaks 16,000 words a day. Talk is easy so you must make your words count. People will always remember how you made them feel and how you said it. Your words have the power to shape your destiny and being able to connect with others. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person. -Colossians 4:6
