Together the two made a team that conquered Jabin. Barak refused to go to battle without Deborah. Barak says “If you go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go.” -Judges 4:8
Deborah agreed to accompany Barack. She stated her going would have drawbacks. With her tagging along the battle would be attributed to her and not Barack. Barak did not care who received the accolades. His concern was in succeeding. The success of the mission was more valuable to Barak.
Compliment not competition
Barak had the muscle and Deborah had the brains. There is no escaping prejudices. Women were not qualified to command an army. Barack being a man was qualified. Deborah had strong faith and belief to put the muscle to work. She supplied the wisdom. Together they formed a team that was invincible. Where each was deficient, the other provided the resource needed to make the mission work. Teamwork resulted in defeating Jabin, taking over Sisera.
Apply this same tactic to your vision. Do not focus on claiming honor and glory instead focus on completing which will result in achieving the desired outcome. It takes teamwork to be victorious. Do not allow pride to block you from moving forward in obtaining the outcome. Teamwork is honor. Someone is willing to join you in the work that you are doing means there is trust and value. Trust and value is the honor.
