Stand Your Ground

In Daniel 3, three men–Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego- stood their ground.  King Nebuchadnezzar made a ninety feet high and nine feet wide golden statue.  He issued a degree that everyone was to bow down and worship this idol.  The three men refused to bow down to worship an idol. An idol has no power. It is simply trickery of men and this world. Men who were jealous and envious of the three men (Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) informed the King of their defiance.  Jealous of their courage and strength.

Do not conform.

The three men choose not to conform and knew whom to which they needed to remain loyal.    Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God. -Romans 12:2

Just like these three men, there will be times that you will need to make the choice to stand your ground.  Holding firm to your beliefs and values.  If you bow and cower down in times of adversity, this will become a habit and practice.  Choose to hold true to your beliefs and values regardless of the consequences and repercussions. Do not cower or bend. Cowering in times of adversity will become a habit. A habit that will cause you to become complacent. A habit that will cause you to sacrifice your vision and purpose.

Do not compromise.

Compromising that which you believe should not be a viable alternative or solution.  Stand your ground which is a testimony to your integrity and character.  Have the grit and tenacity to stand for that which you believe.  Your standing firm will empower and enable you to conquer things and people that will attempt to hold you back.  Overcome what seeks to hinder and control you so that you can keep pressing forward.  Pressing forward soaring to higher levels in your life.  Stand your ground, not compromising your beliefs and values.
