You have control over what you say, think, feel, believe and do. You will be tested on what you think, feel, believe, say and do. Tested because individuals will seek to trick you into making a bad decision. Taking action that is ineffective and counterproductive to what you are seeking to accomplish. You will kick yourself because you allowed negativity to win.
Do not fall for the trap
In Mark 11:27-33, the Sanhedrin were seeking to examine and question Jesus’ authority. They sought to trap and trick Jesus. Jesus outsmarted them. Instead of responding, He posed a question to them. He said, “I will ask you one question; then answer me and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.” -Mark 11:29
Pick a side
The Sanhedrin did not wish to respond because then they would have to pick a side. Either Jesus was the Messiah of God or sent by man. Because of having to pick a side, the Sanhedrin elected to not to respond, claiming ignorance. As such, Jesus said “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.” -Mark 11:33
Remain in control
By Jesus not responding, he remained in control. He “put to silence the ignorance of foolish men” -1 Peter 2:15. You not responding is the best response in some situations. You must pick your battles so that you remain in control of that which is yours to control. Do not allow individuals to bait and move you to think, feel, say, believe and do which is under your control. God has granted and gifted you with the authority to control these five things. Remain in control and move on. Do not provide a response when no response is necessary or required. Your silence will speak louder than any words. You will silence the “fools”.
