As you journey through life, you will experience victories and challenges. Both add to your character. Building resilience, strength and stamina. The victories give you pause to celebrate. The challenges help you to stretch. Challenges and victories are necessary to grow and develop. Life is a learning process. Without challenges, you would not uncover your strength, will and determination. You would not get to know the Lord. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear, I will help you. -Isaiah 41:13
There will be challenges.
In Numbers 21, the Israelites asked God to give them the strength to conquer the Canaanites. God granted their requests. The Israelites destroyed them and their city, Negev. The Israelites moved on from Negev to continue in their journey. After the victory, there came a challenge. The Israelites had difficulty with pushing through challenges. Challenges caused them to become impatient. Impatient caused them to speak out against God and Moses. Complaining about having to stretch themselves. They said “Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? -Numbers 21:5
Embrace victories and challenges.
The people experienced victories in conquering the Canaanites. After victories, there came challenges. They could not accept both. Challenges were part of their journey to the Promised Land. God was preparing them. The Israelites did not want to face challenges only victories. This is not possible in life. Life is comprised of victories and challenges. You must endure and persevere through both. God is preparing you. Both mold you into the person that you need to become. Do not adapt the attitude of the Israelites complaining about challenges. Except challenges as part of the process. Celebrate challenges as you do victories. Be joyful in both. Both make you stronger. Mold you into the person that you need to become.
