Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.

Intentions – by HS Jackson

Intention is the state of one’s mind as the action is carried out.  Your mind and will is on a specific purpose.  As you go through life, reflect on your intentions.  Why do you do what you do?  The why behind your actions.   In Numbers 21, Balaam, a famous seer, was being hired by Balak to curse the Israelites.  God forbid Balaam to comply stating his people are blessed.  Balak tempted Balaam with money and honor, things of the world intended to entice and distract us from our purpose.  Causing us to get off course, not fulfilling the purpose for your creation.  God ultimately gave Balaam permission to go to Balak; however, he was testing his intentions.  God’s anger was kindled because Balaam’s intentions were for personal gain and benefit, not of the Lord’s; thus, he sent an angel to kill him en route.  Balaam’s donkey, a loyal and faithful friend, attempted to save him each time that the angel was going to strike him down. The donkey had to speak to him to get him to see that he was helping him for his own good.

Side note– Each of us have had people in our life who have tried to dissuade us from going down the wrong road.  When they attempt to provide us with advice and guidance, we become hostile and angry.  I know I can testify to this and have stories just as yourself.

Balaam’s donkey attempted to give him hints that he was leaving his line of duty, to not travel to Balak; however, Balaam was blinded by greed and ambition.  Balaam’s actions were fueled by corruption, lust for wealth and power.  Even after God gave him another chance and the donkey’s attempts to aid him, Balaam continues to proceed down the wrong road, following the wide gate instead of the narrow gate.  By Numbers 31, Balaam’s life came to an end.  His corruption and lust, the intentions of his heart led to this downfall.  Thus, reflect on your intentions.  Do not leave the straight way and wander off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer who loved the wages of wickedness. – 2 Peter 2:15   Evaluate and clarify your intentions.  Are you seeking to add value to the world?  Changing the world for the better?  The world needs you.  The world needs each of us to make it better.  Let your actions be fueled to do good, adding value to this world and people.

  1. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like
you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do
with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is excellent blog.
A fantastic read. I’ll certainly be back.
