Apostle Paul says “Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:1). He provides the key to living in the world not being of the world. Jesus says “They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world (John 17:16, NIV). You are to form heathy interpersonal relationships with friends and neighbors. Being distinct with priorities and standards not conformed to the world.
What does this mean?
Living in the word compels you to thrive not survive. Key elements of thriving are:
- Accepting the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
- Developing a personal relationship with God.
- Committing to living in alignment with God’s will and commandments.
- Bearing the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
- Being in community and fellowship.
- Trusting in the Lord and surrendering one’s will to God’s plan.
- Relying on God for wisdom, strength, and discernment and not yours.
- Being at peace in times of adversity and challenges.
- Looking beyond your physical sight to see as God sees.
Embrace the struggles
In him, you have the most powerful weapon to conquer fear, worry and doubt. God is your strength. He provides comfort and solace that enables you to withstand and overcome the struggles that are part of life. Struggles are tests that are not escapable. Embrace the struggles by equipping. Equipping by being in the Lord to move you forward.
You have the key ingredient to being a conqueror. I challenge you to reflect on these two questions?
- On a scale of 1 to 10, rate your strength in the Lord.
- What ways are you life and actions a reflection of your strength?
- What do you need to change, improve or remove?
Message me back on what you uncover in your reflection.
