Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.

Get Out Your Way

In 2 Kings 5, Naaman was a great military leader who had leprosy.  Naaman traveled to meet the prophet Elisha for healing. Naaman assumed he would meet with Elisha, expecting to receive a miraculous healing. Instead of meeting with Elisha, he was greeted by a messenger. The messenger instructed him to wash seven times in the Jordan which would restore and clean his flesh.

Naaman was enraged and offended because he did not meet with Elisha and was instructed by a messenger to wash in the Jordan River.  The Jordan River was dirty and not worthy of him washing in it. He felt that the rivers in Damascus, Abna and Pharpar were far better than the Jordan River.    As such, he chose to ignore the instructions.  His servant said to him “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing would you have not done it?” -2 Kings 5:13.  His servant caused to reflect.

Naaman’s pride was about to be his downfall.   He had faulty expectations, was inflexibility and not teachable.  He had to get out of his own way to receive the healing.  The same applies to you. You must get out of your own way to receive and obtain what is for you.  You will block what is for you resulting in missing opportunities and not living in your purpose.  Do not reject solutions because they do not meet your expectations. Open your mind and get out of your own way. Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wondrous things from your instruction. – Psalm 119:18

  1. Your message speaks directly to me… get out of my own way and watch God work! Thanks for the reminder 🙏🏾

  2. A lot of times I think that I can mix manage and control things and when I do I mess up I have to look for God’s way and not my own
