Apostle Paul says “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think of such things” (Phil4:8, NIV). Paul gives us four keys to thinking positive.  Let’s examine each of the keys.

Focus on Truth

Truth forms the foundation of positive thinking. It involves being honest with ourselves and others, seeking knowledge, and discerning what aligns with reality. By focusing on truth, you avoid deception and cultivate a mindset rooted in authenticity and integrity.

Embrace Nobility

Noble thoughts encompass qualities of honor, dignity, and moral excellence. They inspire you to uphold ethical standards and treat others with respect and kindness. Embracing nobility in your thoughts encourages you to see the inherent worth and potential in yourself and others.

Seek Righteousness

Positive thinking is intertwined with righteousness, which involves living according to principles of justice, fairness, and moral correctness.  By prioritizing righteousness in your thoughts, you strive to make choices that align with God’s will and contribute positively to this world.

Appreciate Beauty and Purity

Paul encourages you to think about things that are lovely and pure. This involves appreciating beauty in your surroundings, relationships, and experiences. It also includes maintaining purity of heart and mind, free from negativity, cynicism, and harmful influences.
