Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.

Focus on Faith not Fear

In Matthew 14:22, Jesus instructed the disciples to go ahead to the other side of the sea in the boat without him.  He had transportation to get to the other side. Jesus went out to join them, walking on the lake.  They disciples saw Jesus walking on the water becoming terrified.  Jesus stated to them do not be afraid, it was only him.

The Test

Peter decided to test Jesus. The test was truly for him. He said “Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.” – Matthew 14:28  Jesus said, “Come.” -Matthew 14:29 Peter got out of the boat walking on the water.  The wind picked up making the water choppy. Peter became fearful, taking his eyes off of Jesus. He moved his concentration from Jesus to the wind.  Changing his focus, resulted in him sinking.  Peter failed the test to gain a lesson.

Fear caused him to lose sight of Jesus. His fear caused him to turn from concentrating on Jesus to giving wind the power to control what he could accomplish. He failed to see that Jesus was in control. The wind had no hold over him. Peter moved his focus from faith to fear.  He changed the vocal point of his thoughts from Jesus to the wind resulting in him loosing his footing.  He did not keep his mind centered and grounded in Jesus.  Altering the direction of his thoughts, lead him to doubt what could be possible and obtainable.

Do not falter

Faltering gives fear a foothold to dissuade and distract you from achieving what is possible. Fear is part of the process. It is how you handle the fear that will affect the outcome.  Keep your mind focused on what you are seeking to accomplish and you will succeed.  Your mind will use the power of will and purpose to keep moving you forward.  Your will and purpose are from the Father.  He will equip and enable you to prevail and succeed.
