In Ruth 1:1-22, Naomi sought to return to her homeland of Judah. She had lost her husband and two sons. Her two daughter in-laws, Ruth and Orpah made the decision to travel with her. Naomi sought to discourage them from following and traveling with her to her homeland. She stated to them, “Go back, each of you, to your mother’s home.”-Ruth 1:8. Ruth would not be turn back. Orpah would not follow.
Say No To Average
Orpah was not able to accept uncertainty, traveling to a new land. Orpah would not stretch. She made the decision to settle for average. She had not faith in what could not be seen.
In life, you must be willing to stretch, facing uncertainty. Trust in the Lord, know that He will provide. My God, I trust in you. Please don’t let me be put to shame! Don’t let my enemies rejoice over me. –Psalm 25:2. God has your back through all things. You must follow the road of uncertainty trusting in Him. Do not worry about where the road will lead you, know that He will take care of you. You must have faith that the road will lead to better.
Orpah lived in a land where there was a famine. In Judah, God was providing food. Do not be like Orpah, settling instead of believing that better is possible and attainable. You cannot allow the fear of the unknown to be a deterrence. Do not allow fear to hold you back from what you cannot visibly see. What you cannot see is Hope. Turning back, you turn your back on hope. You must have faith and believe in the unseen, facing the uncertainty. Have faith in hope, go forward and do not turn back. Those who trust in their own reasoning are fools, but those who walk in wisdom will be kept safe. –Proverbs 28:26
This devotion spoke to my current journey. I’m trusting God to lead me and believe that it is better than I could hope for or imagine.
It is awesome to wake up with conformation from God, that’s why I have to trust him and not turn back. Even though sometimes I can’t see with my eyes but God sees it all and knows it all. My faith is in hope! Thank you for being a vessel for God , the message God sent through you I receive it in the name of Jesus, be blessed.
