Starts with a Dream by HS Jackson
In Genesis 19, Sodom and Gomorrah were overcome by darkness. The people had lost their way. Turning their backs on God, defying his commands and not living by his words. Abraham attempted to plead for those living in Sodom and Gomorrah. As such, God was willing to grant mercy if there were at least 10 people who could be found who were righteous. The Lord sent angels as men to the city to try to give them a chance. The men were going to stay in the town square but Lot interceded. Lot invited the angels into his home for the night, offering them hospitality and showing love.
Side note. – It is incumbent upon each of us to show love and kindness to our fellow neighbors. God is love thus you are to show love. Do not forget you are because of HIM. Each week show kindness and love to a stranger. You never know who you are helping or being of assistance, especially in these uncertain times in which we are experiencing.
A mob came to Lot’s house to harm the angels. Lot attempted to dissuade the mob to the extent of offering his daughters. However, the men wanted the angels, not his daughters. The crowd was enraged and out of control. The angels instructed Lot and his family to flee from Sodom and Gomorrah, One of the angels said to Lot, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back and don’t stop anywhere in the plain.” – Genesis 19:17.
Lot grabbed his wife and two daughters, fleeing as directed. But Lot’s wife looked back and she became a pillar of salt. – Genesis 19:26.
In life, you will need to release that which is holding you back and that which does not add to your purpose, not looking back. You must be able to shed things and people that are not moving you forward hindering your progression. Failing to let go, looking back will hinder your soaring higher, becoming better, reaching your goals and fulfilling the purpose for which you were created. Be prepared to not look back. Apostle Paul says it best, forget what is behind and strain towards what is ahead. – Philippians 3:13. Ask yourself, can you not look back? Why would you want to look back? Looking back can cause you to miss out on what is ahead for you.
