Do Not Waiver, Stay Your Course

Nehemiah received a vision from God to rebuild the walls in Jerusalem.  This assignment resulted in much opposition.  The people and Nehemiah faced much resistance but they stayed the course.   In order to stay their course, they leaned into their faith and believed into their source, God.   The people held a weapon in one hand and a tool in the other.  The people were dedicated and committed to their assignment. As you should be.

As their commitment and resolve grew stronger, the more their enemies persisted in their attempts to halt their progression. Three enemies in particular – Sandballat, Tobiah and Geshem were dedicated to tempt Nehemiah to waiver.   They repeatedly attempted to get Nehemiah to meet with them to no avail.  Finally, the three enlisted Nehemiah’s friend, Shemiah, in their deceptive scheming.

The Distraction

Nehemiah went to the house of a man that was on house arrest, Shemiah.  He stated to Nehemiah that he should run away and hide.  Shemaiah made false claims in attempt to take Nehemiah off his course.  Nehemiah saw through this unclever ruse.   He stated “Should a man like me run away?  How can someone like me enter the temple and live?  I will not go.” – Nehemiah 6:11.

Nehemiah saw right through Shemaiah’s attempt to intimidate and scare him.  God had not sent Shemaiah’s. Shemaiah was an imposter. You have some of these people in your life today.

Focus

As you are pressing forward, attempts will be made distract you from your course.  Remain focused and do not fall for the bamboozlement. Believe and have faith in the greatness that is within you and with you.  Your faith will enable and empower you to keep moving forward realizing success.  You cannot allow others or situations to distract and dissuade you from that which you believe and are doing.  Believe in your vision. Know that you are succeeding.  If you were not succeeding, your enemies would not be attempting to take you off your course.  Do not waiver, stay on your course.
