Do Not Be Devalued

In Genesis, God tells the story on how he created the world and everything that is in existence, including man and woman.  He made man in his image and woman was created from the rib of man.  He gave man dominion over all his creation.

As we read through the Bible, God further gifts each of us with his Spirit that resides in each of us.   His Spirit is the greatness that dwells within-guiding, protecting and leading.  For the Spirt God gave us does not make us timid, but give us power, love and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7)

Jesus sacrificed his life for each of us so that our sins would be forgiven, death having no hold over us.  Each of us are heirs to the inheritance.  We are God’s children.  Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17).

Know who you and do not allow anyone to devalue you or make you think you are less than great. Your value comes from the One who created you. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well Psalm 139:14.

Remove from your mind that you are below average or average.  Remove from your mind that just getting by is acceptable.  Strive to exceed expectations, allowing the greatness within you to ignite and flourish.  In Exodus, Moses was sent to lead the Israelites from bondage.  The Israelites were in bondage for 400 years, were programmed to think less of themselves and that slavery was better than freedom.    Pharaoh said “You are lazy, lazy, that is why you say ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.’ Go now, and work, for no straw shall be given you, but you shall still deliver the same number of bricks.”(Exodus 5:17-18)

First let me say, that I am thankful that I did not live in those times.  I would not have survived.    Each of us cannot allow the negativity of the thoughts of others to poison our mind, devaluing who you are.  Know who you are and whose you are.  Do not allow anyone to detract from your value or try to influence your thinking less of your worth.  Mark Cole CEO of John Maxwell Company stated “People who devalue you, do not determine your value.  Once you have devalued me, you do not control the ability to put value on me.”

Move on from people who seek to devalue you, surround yourself with like-minded people and people who seek to add value to you.   Believe in who you are!
