Bear Your Cross

Then Jesus said to his disciples “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matt 16:24, NIV).

Jesus challenges you to pick up your cross. Accept his challenge. Picking up requires accepting the responsibilities and duties that come with the cross. All that are part of the process of living. See the benefits and application to your life along with its advantages.

Symbolizes

Taking up the cross requires sacrifice, self-denial and not settling for immediate gratification. The cross includes suffering and hardship. There will be struggles and challenges.  Be cheerful and persistent. Not bemoaning the weight of the cross.  For it is for your good. Good that adds to character. As you bear your cross, you become more like the one who bore the cross for all humanity.  Be like him. Accepting and believing in you. You are created in his image.

Determined

Every person has their own cross to carry.  The best cross for you is the one that you are tasked to carry.  Bear your cross dealing with life’s challenges and responsibilities.  It signifies the commitment to endure hardships and difficulties with patience and perseverance.  You will overcome the difficulties and burdens.  Do not compromise your values.  Live in your faith.  Faith that enables and empowers. Accepting and carrying your burdens. Living a life with grace and determination.
