Be Focused to be in Alignment with Purpose

King Solomon had it all – wealth, property and wisdom. With all that he had, he lacked focus.  Solomon’s problems were inward and not outward.  His inward struggles resulted in binges where his focus was on pleasing his flesh and accumulating wealth.   Solomon pursued many unrelated goals that were not related to his purpose or cause.  He was searching aimlessly, setting and achieving goals without accomplishment. He suffered from the danger of too many pursuits that were not in alignment with his purpose. 

Solomon pursued many things instead of focusing on the one thing he did well. Lack of focus results in pursuing too many things in too short a time, chasing the wrong goals to reach desired outcomes, establishing self-serving goals not connected and failing to identify what you want.  Focus means to fix or settle on one thing, having concentration.  You must take the time to determine your focus.  What is if that you seek to accomplish and achieve.  Identify tasks and value that are alignment with your purpose investing in the wisely usage of time and energy.  

Focus yields consistency in your priorities, working within your area of expertise and making time to do what you need to do.  As you take action determine if you can be all in. If you cannot be all in possibly this is not for you.  Focus on being excellent at one thing. Attempting to do everything will distract you from your purpose.  Focus on what you need to be doing, being in alignment with your purpose and cause. The purpose of one’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out. – Proverbs 20:5
