Keep Rising Strong: Get Back on the Path to Success

There is a difference between “falling” and “failing” however both can lead to success.  Both can result in transformation and learning.

Two Distinct Concepts

Falling is a physical descent from a higher to a lower position. It can be accidental or intentional. Falling does not result in failure.

Failing is not meeting an intended goal or expectation. It is often associated with shortcomings or inadequacies in achieving a desired outcome. Failure can be a result of factors such as lack of effort, insufficient skills or resources, or external circumstances.

Unlike falling, failing is specifically tied to a goal or objective and the inability to reach it. Falling is a descent and failing is about not achieving a desired outcome. Falling can sometimes lead to failing especially if it results in a failure to accomplish something due to the fall itself

Temporary Setbacks

Failing and falling are two distinct concepts. Both which are temporary setbacks that impact achieving success.

How do they impact achieving success?

Falling can represent stumbling or experiencing setbacks along the way. There will be moments of weakness, mistakes, or unexpected challenges that temporarily slow down progress. It is acknowledging the reality that setbacks are a natural part of any journey towards success. The setbacks are a vehicle for learning. Get back up and continue to bounce forward.

Failing represents not meeting a particular goal or expectation. Failure can occur when efforts fall short of achieving the desired outcome. Failure is not permanent unless the learning opportunity is missed.  You are to apply by analyzing why the failure occurred, adjusting strategies, and persevering. Apply to overcome initial setbacks and continue progressing towards your goal.

Pursuit of Success

Both falling and failing can be temporary in the pursuit of success. Falling represents setbacks or stumbling blocks along the way, while failing refers to not meeting specific goals. Both experiences can provide valuable lessons and opportunities for growth, ultimately contributing to future success.

The point is to get back up when you fall “for a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again” (Proverbs 24:16, AMP) and to bounce forward when you fail “if you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!” (Proverbs 24:10, NIV)
