Christ – The Foundation

On December 25, we celebrate the birth of Christ.  Christ who has laid the foundation. The foundation for the construction of the structure that you build. What materials are you using to build upon that foundation?  In 1 Corinthians 3, the Corinthians were more concerned with who instead of what and how.  Focusing on Paul and Apollo who had baptized them. Instead, focus should have been on the what and how.  God makes available the resources and materials to build on the foundation of Christ.

Like the Corinthians, you have choices and decisions.  Choices and decisions on the quality of the materials utilized to build your structure.   But each one is to be careful how he builds on it. -1 Corinthians 3:10

Foundation is provided.

Christ is the foundation. It is secure and solid.  It is everlasting.  What you build must be sustainable and viable.  It must be durable with a purpose.  Work quality will be tested.  A poor or badly constructed structure will topple over. Crumbling when put to the test.  If anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones wood, hay or straw, each one’s work will become obvious. -1 Corinthians 3:12-13

What is your desire?

As you are celebrating this week, take time to reflect upon what you are desiring to build.  First determine the what. Second, identify the how. You want to have a structure that will withstand and be of quality.  You want a structure that will survive.  If anyone’s work that he has build survives, he will receive a reward. -1 Corinthians 3:14 After determining the what and how, proceed with construction.

Rejoice and celebrate the gift of the foundation.  The gift of a foundation that is everlasting.  There is no destruction of this foundation. The structure constructed can be destroyed. Build a structure that will withstand.

Merry Christmas to you, loved ones and family.
