Refinement and Sharpening is Required

In Mark 9:33, the disciples were arguing about who was the greatest.  The disciples were ashamed to tell Jesus why they were arguing.  Ashamed because of pride. Pride grounded in ignorance and selfishness.  Jesus answered, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be last and servant of all. -Mark 9:35

To be great and advance, you must put in the work and be humble. Jesus sat on the throne with the Father. Jesus is the leader of all creation. He did not view serving as beneath Him. Jesus lowered and humbled to become a servant to that which He created.

To be great.

You are to be like Jesus. To be the greatest, you must be willing to be a servant.  Do not place yourself on a pedestal. Greatness is not based on belittling others. Do not have the misconception that you are more valuable than another.  No one or nothing is beneath you.  You cannot be materialistic, allowing things to be in control of you.  To go higher to becoming great requires going lower.  This requires humility.  Willingness to serve others, being teachable and not fixated on things.

Anchor to going higher.

Moving up the corporate ladder, launching a business or scaling up a business may require that you go in a different direction.  The different direction may require that you accept a lower position, take less pay or draw down your savings.  You have to relinquish things that you hold dearly to obtain that which you desire and seek.  What you desire and seek is to go higher, becoming great.  Things will not enable or empower you to become great.

To soar higher….

To go higher, requires commitment and being intentional. Committed to the process for sharpening to occur. Intentionality in actions required for sharpening. The process will may require giving up things and possibly people that hold you back.  You must be willing to serve and sacrifice.   Soaring higher will necessitate going low for refinement and sharpening.  Know that you will bounce back being greater and better.
